Restorepoint – an integrated hardware and software solution for managing the configuration of IT network components, has made it to the final of the SC Europe awards.
Commenting on the award, Rory Nolan, Director of TADASoft said: “We are delighted to have made it to the final of the SC Europe awards and this achievement demonstrates the importance of the Restorepoint product in networks across the world.”
A key feature that distinguishes Restorepoint from other solutions is that the core functionality is packaged as a plug-and-play appliance, making installation quick and easy. Used in conjunction with a secure web based service, Restorepoint is effectively a management console providing all the functionality required for supervising, backup and restoring IT network configurations.
“The infrastructure in most organisations is growing and becoming ever more complex as additional network devices are installed, “explains Nolan. “All the servers, switches, routers, proxies and firewalls, will have specific configuration settings which need to be recorded and managed so that they can be re-applied in the event of a failure or incorrect modification.”
“Although there are a few software products that do something similar, Restorepoint is the only solution that works on an appliance, so you don’t have to install any software or operating system. Restorepoint takes about five minutes for configuration and then you are up and running. The clear user interface makes it extremely easy to use ”
All software updates and product plug-ins are controlled centrally and distributed automatically by TADASoft, who will also provide online remote support if necessary.
Another important differentiator is that Restorepoint is the only product that offers data encryption. Traditionally software tools store all the computer filing in plain notepad text on the servers, making this information readily accessible.
Encryption technology ensures a high level of security by ensuring that only authorised people will be able to access data concerning the network configuration.
